What Size TV Do You Guys Have?
I just ordered an 85" TCL from Best Buy during this recent sale. Looks like I picked up one of the last ones in my area before they sold out. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/tcl-85-s4-series-4k-uhd-hdr-led-roku-tv-smart-tv-85s450r-ca-only-at-best-buy/17977274 What size TV are you guys rock...

Re: BTC in the PP
A simple but serious question... do you think that Harry Browne would have approved of Bitcoin?
Would he see it as a complement to a portfolio alongside gold? Or perhaps a more extreme view that it was gold's replacement? Or maybe he'd reject it outright like Peter Schiff...

Base M4 Has Crazy Performance
I picked up a nice little base model Mac mini from the Apple store a couple days ago. I've hooked it up to our living room TV as a home theatre computer. As a base model with the plain vanilla M4 chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD, I wasn't expecting much. But just for kicks, I loaded up the Residen...

Re: Do 30-Year Bonds Still Belong in a Permanent Portfolio? 🙀
We are using LLMs for everything at work lately, and it's being encouraged more and more. A lot of my job is just acting as a proofreader for LLM output for errors now. Sorry, but to the point about 30 year bonds in the PP... I've long said that they do belong in the PP, but only if the interest ra...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
Have you guys watched 28 Years Later?
It's both bizarre and excellent. The style, cinematography, and the mood of the film is very 2000s -- in a good way.
Serious nostalgia and a very creative story (not your usual zombie fare).

Oh, I didn't let you guys know... I actually ended up returning the 14" MacBook Pro and opting for the 16" variety. I was wrong... I missed having a bigger screen. Sure, it's less portable, so either way you're compromising in one dimension or another, but this a great little powerhouse: 1...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
In my hometown it's actually been unseasonably cold and rainy.
It was hot for a few days, like spring/summer had arrived in force, but now it's colder and wetter than it was in March. It's much needed though, as our province has been experiencing a lot of wildfires along with the associated smoke.

Re: ⌛ Too Late for Bitcoin? Or Just the Right Time? ⚡ Finally Taking the First Step into Bitcoin?
Also, when it comes to the topic of something coming along and replacing Bitcoin, the proposition seems unlikely. You can see the beginning's of Bitcoin's position being set in stone already. As of 2025, Bitcoin is the only crypto that is officially deemed to be a commodity by the SEC. Why? Because ...

Re: ⌛ Too Late for Bitcoin? Or Just the Right Time? ⚡ Finally Taking the First Step into Bitcoin?
Well, I understand people's contention that they have missed the boat on Bitcoin. The return path does seem to be decelerating over time. This is sensible as the market is probably in the latter stages of the price discovery process now. However, if it's true that Bitcoin's growth is slowing, it's a...

It seems likely that you forgot to write down one of the 12 words?
Do you have an intuition as to what position the forgotten word was in? If you know that then brute forcing the seed phrase should be pretty easy. The BIP 39 dictionary has 2048 words.

Re: Crypto & (Personal) Safety Measures
In the crypto community it's frequently referred to as a "5 dollar wrench attack". Crypto is becoming valuable enough to the point in which a global game theory is starting to kick in. It reminds of the Dark Forest cosmological hypothesis, too. As Bitcoin and other tokens start to grow in ...

Has anyone here made a trip to China in recent years? Apparently Ray Dalio was less struck by the economic data coming out of China and more by what he actually saw in person (work ethic, drive, manufacturing robustness, etc.).

I'm starting to get used to the 14" display of the Pro versus the 15" display of the Air I had previously. The superior performance is definitely a boon, while the smaller footprint actually makes this guy more portable in certain respects than the Air. Smithers, Why did you choose the 14...
