Rewatch Crocodile Dundee and compare it to Australia in 2020. With "toxically" masculine Trump the pendulum is swinging back a bit.

Gain of function never stopped and will never stop. Because foreign adversaries will not stop. Same for AI killbots. Not a big deal for respiratory viruses because the sicker they make the host, the less they can spread. We've been co-evolving with them for millennia. Fauci's pardon is clever, it re...

Thats why you dont want a centralized politburo planning the economy. Forcing price controls to hide inflation. Extending credit and grants to their friends industries. OTOH China had their economic miracle. But we saw how they handled the housing bust in 2020. They found a neat way to stop bank run...

Re: Moving up to 4.9%
Fed could buy directly from treasury to fund deficit. eg money supply +10%/year. If they step out of private markets eg stop buying mortgages and corporate bonds, a free market would want ~13% rates. You'd get 10% CPI and businesses might fail with those rates. Japan is rich and creates make-work jo...

Everyone has their own definition, its a war of language. But "protectionist" tariffs and lower taxes has overlap with MAGA. Taxes on tips would not generate a lot income, especially after compliance/enforcement costs.

Rising long rates are the PPs weak point...so what % PFIX? Or maybe PP theory needs an update to hold a lot less LTTs when they yield less than 2.5%. Zero lower bound is real

Any big bag of stocks is good enough, but cap weight is equal weight. eg you own 1% of Microsoft and 1% of Joe's vegan hot dog stand. You're claiming to be smarter than the market if you want $100k worth, or 50% of Joe's stand.
