Re: Uranium

Thats what the collective wisdom thinks its worth. We can write a narrative that will sound good to our monkey brains; "It can only go up from here" or "Humans will always F-up nuclear and have Fukushimas" Insider trade, buy the market, or recognize that our pet theories of the future (speculation) ...

Re: The GOLD scream room

Getting out at a profit or a loss? Sorry to hear about your car. My 05 Taurus was parked when someone mixed up the pedals and pushed it down an embankment. Their insurance (AAA) handled it pretty well, I was worried it would turn into a legal scuffle. They gave me $4500 which is decent. Same mileag...

Re: Permanently low interest rates

Companies know rates can go up, they'd deserve to go under. I might agree that BOJ and ECB are keeping bad companies afloat with free money. Unemployed/bored people commit crime tho, another reason to get rid of min wage. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4250756-buybacks-making-market-look-cheaper ^...

Re: Dividend Growth Investing

If anything, "short" them. I bought consumers staples ETF just before Trumps election, when sentiment was negative and defensive (30 year at 2.33% market predicting low growth/inflation). The ETF got left behind because the narrative changed to "pro-business." The 30 year is still ~3% so now might b...

Re: Permanently low interest rates

Everyone loves Dalio's video but im not sure yet. How does he come up with "typically 50 years" for a long term cycle. The world changes a lot over 50 year spans. We had a soft landing after the tech bubble. If it was even a "bubble", we didnt know how tech would pan out. Predicting the future is ha...

Japan's rich. Next they'll buy your neighbors house unless nationalism blocks it.

The problem is they keep companies on life support. If Frank in the cubicle next door gets paid to do nothing, I'll do nothing too.

As the son of immigrants, I have to pipe up and point out what is the unseen Achilles tendon of American culture at this point, and why it's all going to sh**. Americans who have been here a long time don't see it, but immigrants see it, and we talk about long time Americans behind y'alls back, by ...
