How much of a 25% allocation to gold do people find reasonable to put into senior and junior gold miners for a bit of juice? I'm thinking 1% Don't think adding 1% will make any kind of difference whatsoever. I can't figure out whether miners are a good idea, or just an emotional trap where value go...

The way I look at it, what's important isn't whether gold works in inflation/deflation/etc., but whether we have n assets that are relatively uncorrelated. So long as gold doesn't move in tandem with the other two (stocks and bonds), it's a winner to reduce volatility. What's been scary recently is ...

I found that covered calls on ETFs don't yield a whole lot. I invest in individual stocks for writing the calls.

Tax implications don't worry me - I'd rather make some money, even if it's taxed, than nothing at all.

Who says you should limit your stocks to the USA market?

Go international, or pick a specific country or region with favourable demographics. My PP stocks are VT, an internationally diverse ETF.
