Re: If

Voting is a suggestion box for slaves and makes you complicit with whatever the government does. It's a humiliation ritual. If you vote you're saying this system of selecting leaders is valid and therefore the "will of the people" is valid and executed by the gov't. If no one voted the go...

I love this tradition of showing off Harry in exotic locales. I remember a similar thing from elementary school.

Re: If

I gotta admit, after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt, I’m feeling differently about Trump. Everything was fucked in PA, but he prevailed against the forces of evil.

Re: PP vs 60/40 Shares/Gold

Perhaps he defines volatility in a different way? From his YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33TWOZ4zfaA This video has been blowing my mind today (among other current events). My takeaways: [*] With a 5 year horizon, 20% stocks / 80% gold is safer than 40% stocks / 60% tbills. [*] At...

Also: isn’t one man’s evil candidate another man’s good candidate? If not, isn’t it still slippery like ESG investing? (And this time I’ll bother to type out: you might be tempted to reply, “This post isn’t addressed to those who already think they’re voting for someone good. It’s for those who’re ...

Re: If

"Constantly choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil." - Jerry Garcia When you vote for the lesser of two evils, you are complicit. Vote for someone good this time around (even if it is doubtful they'll win), and maybe we'll get better choices next time around. We're not vot...

Re: Yield

Good idea, using the yield of the PRPFX as a proxy:

https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/PRPFX/performance/

0.58% seems low, but the metals aren't yielding anything, so maybe that explains it.

I’ve been with Vanguard for over ten years, and have also noticed degradation of service. I also have accounts with Schwab and Fidelity, and prefer the service I receive there.

Yeah, I wasn't really making a moral claim about owning bonds on your fellow countrymen. I suppose it's better that citizens own these bonds than foreigners.

Re: Bondage

Wealth creation isnt zero-sum, if you loan me a tractor we can both have more food Money out of thin air is more complicated...if you want instant access to savings you should get 0 interest or even pay a storage fee. If you want interest the money should be locked up to prevent bank runs. We have ...

Interesting video. The way that she and Fauci look at each other, each smiling and nodding, acknowledging the deed had been done.

Bondage

I just realized that purchasing a 30 year bond is a bit like buying a share of a 30-year contract of bondage of your fellow countrymen. Ultimately, the money that is paid back to you is extracted from the population. Debt bondage, also known as debt slavery, bonded labour, or peonage, is the pledge ...

Anyone know of any studies into the yield of the PP over time? I'd imagine it tends to be above the yield of the stock market.

Re: The World’s Safest Portfolio

When you strip it down to its building blocks, then, the final asset allocation of our safe portfolio is 70% cash, 10% stocks, 10% bonds, and 10% gold – for a long term inflation-adjusted compound annual growth rate of 2.4%. A bit of data mining here I think. If you consider countries that had tota...

I think I could guarantee you that an extreme high percentage of people who consider themselves "gay" wish that they had born with the same inclinations as you and me. I agree, except that I don’t believe people are born gay. Anyway, I came here to post this: https://youtu.be/AOk3wBuQNcE?...

Let’s say that he was not merely uninformed, but lying. What do you think his motive was? Covering his ass. Rep. Rich McCormick (R-Ga.), M.D., held Dr. Fauci accountable for promoting unscientific vaccine mandates from his position of power at the White House. Contrary to what was promised, the COV...
