Re: Attention: Mathjak! Choose Your Tactical Asset Allocation Strategy Carefully
well these portfolios i mentioned are not tactically allocated . they stay fixed , some are not even rebalanced unless the fed lowers orraises rates and even then its only rebalanced that once as an example here is the accelerated pp . there is nothing tactically changed 25% leveraged stock funds (U...

my core portfolio is always evolving but always invested . i keep a certain amount out for fun trading and darting in and out . both gave grown very nice sums of money Hi 👋🏻 Can you explain your PP ? What type of trading do you do? Reading the chart 📈? I tried and studied 20+ years of technical ana...

Re: BTC in the PP
1% is tens of thousands of dollars invested in bitcoin. gold is a 5% position overall and is 6 figures so they are enough But even if it increased by 20% is that going to have an impact on your overall portfolio? no , but it all goes in to the pile ….same as my year end fun trading …it can bring in...

Re: BTC in the PP
i own ibit and befor ibit i owned gbtc but i dont consider it part of any portfolio.. it dos not reliably react to anything except greed and fear . so it sits alone . i commit no more than 1% of total liquid assets including cash to it . so its a nice sum but is low on the food chain as to what gets...

Re: the accelerated permanent portfolio
yes it does , and i like his portfolio…
i just find that bitcoin is to hard to pin down as to when its going to do its part of the job in a portfolio.
i find it easier to just keep it on its own where it can march to its own drummer and no other component looks to it to react at a certain point

Re: the accelerated permanent portfolio
i own ibit and for years owned gbtc for years . the problem with bitcoin is it has a mind of its own and more often than not seems linked to what happens with tech stocks. there is no real pinning it down to the point it can be counted on reliably the same way more modern products can be thru option...

Re: the accelerated permanent portfolio
that would have had a huge drawdown in 2022.. not a problem for a long term investor but for someone living off a dynamic draw rate keeping these draw downs is highly important one of the problems of creating portfolios by using specific time frames of the past and then molding the portfolio to be r...

Re: the accelerated permanent portfolio
I say this with peace and love but there is nothing permanent about your investing strategies. It's always the next big thing. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's adapting to new information available! But permanent, it ain't. the only thing permanent is i am always invested i am always...

TMF the leveraged version is up 3.4%
my tyd leveraged version is up 2% in the carolina reaper
i also own govz in the O.P.T.R.A. PORTFOLIO UP 1.64%
but these all function in leveraged risk parity portfolios with managed futures as well riding shotgun so if one doesn’t work the other should

it isn’t about holding them to maturity, it’s about under the right circumstances they act as fighter cover and if they are. up enough you sell some off

they were so over valued , i am not surprised…….when vanguard adds a warning to the prospectus of its total market and s&p funds that they are no longer diversified as 7 stocks account for 35% of the index it’s time to rethink your plan and how much you allocated to them if a conservative investor

Re: the accelerated permanent portfolio
all i know is it works . today long term bonds up , pfix down almost as much , so it is that proverbial SEE SAW hedge against the damage of rates rising. the only question is finding the right balance so you don’t stall things right now i own only 10k worth which is so little it wouldn’t hedge much ...

i agree …the only risk here is getting taxed on a state level .
but so far these techniques have been used by hedge fund for a long long time .
i would bet berkshire with its billions in cash employ these strategies themselves

interesting podcast on risk parity radio on long term bonds
it’s an older pod cast . now most of what frank vasquez uses as risk parity portfolios since then use long term treasuries but also use managed futures flying fighter cover over the portfolio as well as leveraged bond funds so less of your own money is in them yet you get the full effect https://www...

i learned of another very interesting etf today from risk parity radio this sounds like just the answer for cash in my taxable account we don’t need right now . imagine a t-bill fund that pays no interest , but just accumulates all the interest for you . as long as you hold it a year you can get lon...

Re: Tactical Asset Allocation + HBPP an intriguing combo
optra is interesting the sense it does not get rebalanced on a schedule or by bands . it only gets rebalanced once , when the fed changes rate direction. all withdrawals come each year from the best performer it is designed with withdrawals in mind and has no cash position holds for withdrawals in a...
