Re: Today I call on the PP for a service

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think you're right in saying that the PP needs to stay balanced. I've decided to sell off a balanced chunk of my PP that has some gains and buy the house cash. It will be much easier on my mind in case it takes time to sell the other. 2k/month interest payments on...

Re: Today I call on the PP for a service

Option 1. The worst possible time to drain yourself of cash is when you're buying a home. Talk to your real estate agent about alternatives? There are lots of other ways to manage this situation without having to resort to a mortgage and all the pain that entails. (Btw there is no such thing as "no...

Today I call on the PP for a service

I own my current home with no mortgage. I'm buying a new one and plan to do the same via a no closing cost mortgage paid off quickly after the current home sales. So buy a new home first then sell the current one to pay the mortgage. I have two options : 1 - put down 20% on a new home and take the r...

Re: Vanguard Solo 401 Downside

Thanks guys. With Vanguard you basically can't buy anything thats not a fund, with Fidelity you can't do electronic funding or Roth. Shafted.

Vanguard Solo 401 Downside

I've been the contribution to my solo 401k,and from what I understand I should be putting LTB in this tax deferred account. I'm currently doing that in my taxable directly through the bond desks. What are the downsides to using vanguards bonds as an alternative, or should I just move over to fidelity?

Solo 401k - who to seek for help

I own an LLC. Unfortunately don't have a retirement setup yet, but I know a solo 401k is a good fit. My CPA only wants to be told what to do and won't advise me. Should I seek out a financial advisor for help with a solo 401k or are they just going to try and push their products on me? I actually se...

Re: Any opinions on FZFXX

Ok thanks. I wonder if FZFXX is preferable to FCASH for core position in Fidelity?

Re: Brexit

It bears repeating: Harry Browne was a smart man. Amen. It's days like these when I thank my lucky stars I ran across Fail Safe Investing and this forum. I feel the same, but it was Best Laid Investments that did it for me. Breakfast was nice this morning when the wife asked how these giant stock m...
