Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

Screw the airbags and anti lock brakes. Not worth it. Safety glass…pfffft. Low risk.

That’s the argument right there. (Kinda glad I had air bags though when I was in the one and only freeway wreck of my life)

Re: Figuring Out Religion

I usually don't dip into online religious discussions, but I think the heavy reliance on Paul's teachings to indicate works don't matter are very hard to square with what Jesus Christ said and did in the four gospels. Would a Christian suggest Paul's teachings are more important than the Master's ow...

No. He does not. Call me stunned unless he lives in Austin. A quick internet search suggests in Texas no one can compel you or your school age children to wear a mask. https://gov.texas.gov/news/post/governor-abbott-issues-executive-order-prohibiting-government-entities-from-mandating-masks Of cour...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

Have we lost the ability to be surrounded by death without going "bonkers"? M, I think we would call this extremely blessed...the fact that we have the luxury to go bonkers over stuff that our forbearers would find unbelievable for its triviality. More harshly, some might say we lack gratitude for ...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I just happen to think that if you are 45-50 or over it is one heck of a personal risk to take and most definitely you are playing small odds against large odds with your life. It's clear a substantial number of people have lost that bet. If you exclude those individuals with obesity, diabetes, imm...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

j, I'd feel exactly the same if my kids had to put up with that. Sounds like you live in a VERY blue state, which would suck. The frustration and anger is understandable for sure. I think the fact of covid, it's ability to do some serious damage/kill, but yet as a % of the population not huge, but n...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

I’m not really getting it, sorry. I still can’t carry more than 3oz liquids and have to take my shoes off at the airport. All theater, right? Where’s the outrage? Been 20 years…. I see more and more people in stores, Target and Menards today, without masks. No one cared. I have little brain energy ...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

the "official" ( whatever that means ) judgement It means they want to see if they can still milk the pandemic for another year. I think the only entities milking it now are the press organizations. Even the politicians are starting to chill out except for those few still riding the covid politics ...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

It's entirely possible that Omicron is the mutation we've been waiting for. The one that takes the next step towards the bug becoming like a common cold. Absolutely that's the case. Coexisting with the host is a very common end point. Thus far it appears the variant is less severe in it's effects t...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

It's not complex comparatively at all. The four factors, all duly noted. The four factors are also applicable to every disease/ailment there is. Does this mean that because these four factors exist we are wasting time and money on specific remedies? Seems like you are implying that. Are you familiar...

Non technical and at this point completely anecdotal, but does crypto as of late seem to be highly correlated with risk on/off days?

If you are into crowd sourcing as a source of "most likely" right

And I'm letting myself get sucked in again...:-)

Hey and we kept it civil which is good...so kudos to all!

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

So it's not unreasonable or uncommon for different people to look at a very complex issue and come to different conclusions. Indeed, but just because one doesn't like the official narrative doesn't mean it isn't closest to the truth. I just happen to think that if you are 45-50 or over it is one he...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I understand what you guys are saying, and at the end of the day Ivermetcin may work. You guys stating this is both accurate and fair. However may I add a small but? What is the logic or common sense of hoping something may work which won't be proven for however long it takes vs. going with somethin...

Going to facts here's the bottom line: Ivermetcin studies range anywhere from it may work to it doesn't work. The jury is still out. (However, if you really think taking a drug made for animal deworming is a super great idea that sticks it to big pharma...knock yourself out.) Agree with Flyingpytho...

v_c,

Agree on all points.

I use the PP as a benchmark for a similar though leveraged portfolio.

I chuckled on your last two sentences...very true. Kinda like using Formula 1 racing speeds to evaluate rally car race speeds. Yes, they both have engines but not really the same thing.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

Going to facts here's the bottom line: Ivermetcin studies range anywhere from it may work to it doesn't work. The jury is still out. COVID specific vaccines work at the reported efficacy with the reported side effects. The most studied vaccine ever (by far). If I'm over 40-50 and make evidence based...

Re: Staying the course with LTTs

Fair value can be modelled (basically an educated guess) and then confirmed in hindsight by evaluating whether there was a mean. Fair value is market value less speculative excess. The PP allows you over time to essentially be holding assets at their fair value and reducing the speculative excess a...

Re: Staying the course with LTTs

Is a speculative premium considered over performance? But if you believe in a long term average growth trend and that there will be reversion to that mean then is it fair to say that anything above that is considered performance or just that if you have exposure above fair value then you're taking ...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

What we refer to as “facts” are actually data+interpretation+persuasion. So more “facts” are not really a solution. Not only that, but there's a lot more to covering the news than just fact vs opinion. For example, which stories get coverage and which are buried? Even if you're presenting everythin...

Is the PP under-performing, or is the stock market over-performing?
It's all relative, right? :-)
