Re: Finding an Account Manager for PP

Has anyone here found an independent manager willing and able to competently take over management of your PP? Hi snedgar (gardens?) My accountant also does money management for the elderly, especially those who are losing their eyesight. (I don't use him for that; I'm a spring chicken). He's trustw...

Re: Cracks emerging in money markets?

It's not too late now. I mean, I already have just about everything in treasury. If it were in prime or federal and I needed -- not wanted, but needed -- to move it to the treasury MM, it would mean something's wrong, e.g. breaking the buck.

Re: Omar accused of treasonous plot with Qatar

I like that first paragraph, Maddy. As for the second, it is ironic isn't it. There have been accusations that AOC is being "run" by the Young Turks guy if I remember that right. Was it kriegsspiel who posted the video? What I've always felt about Omar is not that she's being controlled by someone e...

Re: Cracks emerging in money markets?

...Vanguard's Federal MM fund (VMFXX), and currently 20% of its holdings are repos! :o I have a big chunk of cash invested in VMFXX out of convenience since it's my settlement fund and Vanguard doesn't allow using their Treasury MM fund (VUSXX) as a settlement fund. (Didn't want one extra step when...

Re: Cracks emerging in money markets?

Fidelity MM (SPRXX) which generally yields 0.25% or so more than their Treasury MM (FZFXX) is now paying 0.1% less . I wonder if there is more to be concerned about than we think? Hmm, Vanguard Prime is still yielding more (2.08%) than Vanguard treasury MM (1.97%). Although, Prime’s expense ratio i...

Re: Stock scream room

That all makes sense, especially firewalling the pp. At first it seemed strange that new money from wages would go to the vp, but - it has to come from somewhere. (My vp came from savings/windfall, so I hadn’t thought about it much. And yes, same deal as with my question about new money- it could ha...

Are you speaking literally or metaphorically, because male circumcision is not *so* bad. O0 Compared to what they’re doing to women over there, it’s a nail trim.

Re: Stock scream room

20% VP means you keep adding to it if it goes down. That's correct. If you're using HB's method, you don't keep a certain percentage of your wealth in the VP bucket. Otherwise, it's just another leg of the PP. You have to keep them separate, and only rebalance within each bucket. So you would only ...

Re: Cracks emerging in money markets?

I'm curious as to where all the negative interest stuff is going to go which to me is a crisis all by itself. It literally makes no economic sense. (Or if someone has seen a good explanation, please post it. I would enjoy reading about it.) Perhaps it's as easy as there is soooo much money in the w...

Re: Stock scream room

MediumTex had a practice of saying, “I’m buying Intel today”, or whichever stock. That was fun, and refreshingly honest, and we could follow along to see how he was doing based on his date of announcement. Everything else just feels like stocks are ready to go down, but then again they might not for...
