Re: I miss Craig Rowland

This begs the question: Which countries do you see having a strong culture, economic freedom and stability, and good prospects for the future? Is that the 5th economic climate that no one else has discovered? Even though your answer is not serious, I would actually say that the culture of the countr...

Re: No one can know anything

I've mentioned this before, but it should be repeated again. Personally, I would not feel comfortable holding any of the PP assets in isolation. For the portfolio to perform as expected, do not try and time your entry. Purchase all 4 assets at the same time (lordmetroid). I thought you abandoned th...

Full-time executive-level income since 1998 or so.  There are a lot of skillsets that go into making money online; Namely: Copywriting, an understanding of e-commerce and marketing funnels. This can take time to learn. I highly recommend: Bmyers.com. In a nutshell: Find a niche that has disposable i...

Re: Chromebook, tablet, or Linux

I've been using Zorin (Linux distro) for the past year or so and have been very happy with it. I'm not a tech guy; Zorin's set up has a very similar feel to Windows. It's been 100% reliable. No crashing, no blue screen of death. I have no idea if it's light weight or not, but might be something to l...

Don't forget the Irish. Their lives matter, too: "Bill: I don't see no Americans. I see trespassers, Irish harps. Do a job for a nickel what a nigger does for a dime and a white man used to get a quarter for. What have they done? Name one thing they've contributed." He literally MADE that movie. Be...

Re: The Best Razor On Earth

I switched from electric shavers after getting tired of them breaking and ... not really getting a very good shave. After much experimentation, I've settled on a Merkur 34C with either Derby or Blue Persona blades. Initially I thought the Derby blades sucked, but I guess my "technique" got better.  ...

Re: Dissolution of the USA as we know it?

I think Fred has it right: http://www.fredoneverything.net/Secession.shtml There will probably not be a formal secession, but a series of de facto secessions are already in the middle of taking place as states openly violate federal law and get away with it. State and local leaders are starting to ...

Re: New Strategies for Covering Long-Term Care Costs

I've got the house paid off. If the wife dies before me, I'll be importing 5 to 6 Filipina nursing school graduates for the in-home care: One to actually take care of me and the other five just to have fun messing with their head.

Duluth Fire Hose pants (the original ones, not the "Duluth Flex").  I find that they fit a lot better than Carharts, look better and wear better.

Re: Home Defense Gun 2.0

Keep in mind we are hyper-optimizing here. Any gun is better than no gun in a home invasion situation, and much of the time you won't even need to shoot it so it may not even matter what it fires. And if you do, shooting the bad guy with anything is probably going to make him strongly reconsider hi...

My feeling is that I may only get an opportunity to hit the attacker once. I want to make sure it counts: Put him down and keep him out of the fight.

Re: Home Defense Gun 2.0

.22 is a varmint round.  You can't even reliably and consistently kill animals bigger than a rabbit with one.  Why would you want to try to take down two or three 280 lb. attackers on meth-- if you had a choice? Little bullets = little holes. Big bullets = big holes.  Big holes put 'em down and keep...

Re: Tony Robbins New Book On Finance

People like Tony Robbins bother me. He always delivers his ideas as if they were easy, but the truth is that gurus like Tony Robbins seem to attract people based on their fascination with his charisma and charm, rather than any real insight in his solutions to life's problems. I may be wrong, but I...

Re: Radical Muslims slaughter 2,000 in Nigeria last week

In 1801, just thirteen years after the Constitution was ratified, the Tripolitan War blatantly violated the sovereignty of the Ottoman Empire in order to carry out a U.S. foreign policy objective that was in keeping with America’s guiding principles of maintaining independence abroad, ensuring freed...

You have been missed.

P.S. The PP is the super safe car that doesn't have enough horse power to get out of its own way and ends up getting creamed by a big rig truck that has, "Market Returns" painted on the side.

Re: What pit bull activism says about our culture

I don't recommend a border collie.  Sure, it's a great breed for a professional dog trainer or a sheep rancher.  But it's a terrible breed for a regular dog owner.  They're too high energy and intense. Definitely go with the Greyhound.  They are super-mellow.  Easy coat... just an all around very go...

Re: What pit bull activism says about our culture

You need to qualify it more.  Your question/suggested comparison is far too broad. What type of aggression? Yes, it's true: The pit bull is an extreme breed.  It's not for everyone.  But neither are Ferraris, AK47s, marijuana, monster trucks, base jumping, etc... For your comparison: I would say tha...
