Vitamin D3 Cold Remedy
Sophie posted a couple months ago that when she feels a cold coming on she takes 10,000 IU of vitamin D3, and it seems to stop the cold cold. I've been waiting since then for a cold to come on. It finally did a couple days ago with the beginnings of a sore throat and my head feeling weird - congeste...

Have you guys seen Doncic's game-winning three pointer from last night? It's worth looking up. The guy is amazing.
Re: Inflation
I had to buy a tool at Lowes this morning. The guy who helped me find it was shaking his head, because OSB board that recently sold for $8 each just got marked up to $50 each. That's insane. The price of new homes must be skyrocketing, which will make the price of used homes do the same.
Re: Inflation
My favorite home repair was not too long ago: the dishwasher quit making heat. It turned out that the problem was the connection between the control board and the heater, and the "by the book" repair was an expensive new control board. The actual fix was to put $.00001 of solder to connect the wire...

Re: Healthcare Workers Should Be Forced To Be Vaccinated
That last point about health care workers reporting bad side effects is clearly worse than crying Fire in a crowded theater and therefore should not be protected speech and should be criminalized.
It felt good to write that sentence. Now I can see why Democratism is becoming so popular.

Re: Why I Became a Democrat
If that was a "ravishing of democracy," I'd say you have a pretty low bar for what a ravishing is. Did they find a single fire arm or bomb on any one of those silly protesters? I'd bet good money that the whole Capitol invasion thing was allowed to happen by the powers that be so that they can crack...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan
There's plenty of stories of medicines rushed to production that have caused more problems than they solved. Even our resident physician, Sophie, said that she wouldn't have gotten the vaccine unless her employer pushed her into it. I'm certainly in no rush to get it. Call me a Karen if you like. I ...
Re: Dr Seuss
I agree with a lot of stuff said in this thread, but the bit about the Sistine Chapel ceiling belonging to all of humanity I don't get. I mean I get in some sentimental, romantic sense how somebody could want to think that, but in fact the ceiling belongs to the Vatican, and they get to decide how t...

Didn't hospitals get more money by labeling deaths as caused by Covid? You don't think that didn't skew the numbers? Follow the money.

Re: Trump as tragicomedy
So, just as any rational person suspected, the exact things that Trump was excoriated for by the media, if done by Biden get a mild hand slap.
No wonder Trump called them fake news. That's probably his biggest achievement is exposing fake news for what it really is.

Yes at least we don't have those mean tweets to deal with any longer. And isn't it so much more pleasant now that the media has a president who doesn't deserve to be treated so negatively all the time? At least we don't have to read the negative headlines all the time.

It'll be interesting to see what measures actually work to limit colds. Most of what people are doing now have already been shown to be useless. And, it takes prolonged contact to catch bugs, so shopping and restaurant dining aren't the problem. Definitely stay away from airplanes and crowded theat...

Personally I'm never going without a mask ever again, indoors and out. I can't have it on my conscious if I unknowingly spread a deadly disease, disproportionately to poor minorities who serve the function as essential workers for less than poverty wages. The biggest hurdle has been showering with ...

Good stuff, ahrunforthehills, enjoyed reading it very much. These politicians and do-gooders trying to fight the laws of economics are like people jumping off a cliff without a parachute and claiming they can fight the law of gravity. It's a dog eat dog world. The person who won't work won't eat. Pe...

Democrats don't understand simple economics. Why should they? They never had to run a business. Small business owners wouldn't be voting Democrat anyway, so why should the Democrats worry about them (other than the fact that they make up a large part of our economy). Our country has become a farce.

I was a Democrat for a while, although never registered. And Lincoln was a huge hero of mine for a long time also. Now I see him for the fool that he was, leading America away from republicanism and towards federalism, which was a huge mistake. If we still had republicanism, we woudn't need secessio...

Biden Aims to Tackle Another American Crisis: Race
The subject line is a current CNN headline. What stupidity. I suppose the people that write those articles probably believe what they are writing. Is America in a race crisis? Of course not. The only crisis is the one ginned up by the Democrats and media for race-baiting identity-politics virtue sig...

Btw, tomfoolery, I want to compliment you on your newfound long-time registered Democrat persona. Satire is very effective at pointing out inanity.

According to many media reports, supposedly many nations were laughing at the U.S. when Trump was our president. I suspect they are laughing at us a lot more now than they were then, but the media will pretend otherwise.

I Shrugged, Very well said. I support Trump, and I'm not a white supremacist or a conspiracy theorist.
