Re: The political re-alignment of our time

I'm not rejoicing to see people suffering. I'd love it if everybody could live a happy, prosperous life. However, America has enough people right now. We have enough on our plate just trying to get jobs for the people we already have. Other countries need to step up and take care of their own. If we...

Re: The political re-alignment of our time

What I think is funny is that somebody like Trump gets blamed for enforcing our immigration laws, as if it's his problem to deal with the poor life that people in other countries have. Trump's job is to do what's best for Americans. The people who should be blamed for the poor lives of people in oth...

Re: The political re-alignment of our time

You're living in a dream world. Governments need to enforce the laws that are on the books. If that doesn't happen, then we just slowly turn into the type of nation that these immigrants are trying to get away from. Government bureaucracy is a terrible thing to fall into. Ask me how I know. It's not...

Re: The political re-alignment of our time

Make no mistake, the government murdered this man. I presume his parents brought him here illegally when he was a baby. Make no mistake, his parents murdered him. Laws have two purposes: punishment and deterrence. If we don't send people home who came here illegally or were brought here illegally, ...

Re: Given the U.S. fiscal situation, should military spending change (how much?)

My sense is that this is a pretty diverse group politically.

Could me among any who favor small government, including small military.

I don't think that government can solve people's problems for them. They have to do that for themselves. That's how it's always been.

Re: Spikes in Premium on PHYS

The premium went up last year for a couple weeks in January, so I've been keeping an eye on it, hoping for something similar this year. I still have no idea why that would be. Do people like to transact gold in January for some reason?

Don't look now, but PHYS closed with a very slightly positive premium today.

Re: PP vs Desert Portfolio

55% of 10-year T-bonds is basically the same as having 27.5% cash and 27.5% long-term T-bonds. It's called the bullet versus the barbell. Either one is fine, although having the barbell may give more options because you have cash to buy things when needed. So, you're revised Desert portfolio is basi...

Re: Trump's Effect on the PP

Techno, you are obviously a fascist for even considering the possibility that Trump is not the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler. Haha, just kidding. I did some head scratching about some of the recent remembrances about past Trump discussions. I don't remember them the way that some people do. I guess ...

Re: Solar and wind are the future

I find it hard to fathom also. Around here, the PB courts are always crowded, and there are nowhere near enough courts to satisfy the demand. Maybe you just aren't there at the times when PB is being played. Or maybe PB hasn't taken off yet in your area.

Re: Check Endorsement - For Deposit Only.

I think the problem was that you, not your wife, was trying to deposit the check into a joint account where you, and not just your wife, would then have access to the funds. If your wife had been present, I bet there would have been no problem. Or if you had just used the ATM for the deposit, again ...

Re: Solar and wind are the future

Great to hear! I'm still a working man for the next 10 years or so, but I play PB as much as possible. It's really fun to look around the courts and see people from teenagers to in their 80s, and from people who are obviously extremely athletic to ones who are not coordinated at all, and everyone is...
