PRPFX Tax Issues

So the huge capital gains distribution increase killed me in taxes this year and I'm still carrying a significant loss.  This seems like the first time the fund has become extremely tax-inefficient.  Anyone else experience this frustration?

Thanks guys- my understanding is most places will pay spot price when buying back.  Since I plan on taking them from the dealer to my safe deposit box, it seems the Leafs at 1% savings are a better buy.

Greetings: I am looking to add to my gold holdings and will finally make the transition from IAU to physical gold coins.  My question is this: Is there any substantial difference between Golden Eagles and Maple Leafs.  A local dealer quoted a 5 % above spot for the Maple Leafs and 6 % for the Eagles...

Thanks!  I have been in PRPFX for several years and quite happy with the results.  I know all common sense goes against trying to "time" the investments but it's still a bit disconcerting.

Floating Rate Bonds and Preferred Stock ETFs

Hi all- been reading quite a bit about floating rate bonds (i.e., FLOT) and preferred stock (i.e., PFF).  I know there are risks with both but seem like one or both may damper some of the future everyone seems to be warning about.  Any thoughts??

I am also struggling getting started esp. with the Dow almost at an all time high, all the dire warnings about LT treasuries, and the constant media hype about the US defaulting.  I did open IAU but keep second guessing going further.
