Re: "The Bezzle"

Not sure if this question should be spun off to another post .. but.. What is everyone's best guess as to what HB would be recommending if he still had his call in show? I've often wondered about this. I think others have too. My best guess is that as long as the PP has not been broken, he wouldn't...

Where to consider going?

Caymans
Singapore
Costa Rica
Poland

Anywhere else?

Didn't CraigR move to New Zealand? I wonder if he's regretting that move.
Lots of places. I recommend the Nomad Capitalist channel on YouTube.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

One thing I really enjoy is not watching any news at all, left or right. Occasionally there is some event I want to see play out on live TV, but generally I like reading my news these days. Some news bias studies claim that printed versions of CNN and Fox are a bit less biased than the TV versions ...

Re: Are We Living Under Communism?

Lot of great questions and comments in this thread. My thoughts: There will be places to go. They won’t be the first world English countries. And probably not Western Europe. The time to go is before it’s imperative, and no longer possible. So make a Plan B. Start by getting a second passport. You m...

It’s kind of 1984 meets the Brave New World. We have the surveillance state, lies, and lunacy of the former, and the happy drug (smartphones and social media) and loss of moral compass of the latter.

I saw first hand the score inflation in the ACT tests. Comparing scores in my era to those in my kids’ era. The kids were not smarter but their scores were much higher.

I support Xan. He volunteered for a tough, mostly thankless role. I too hope Corto and Desert stick around; I have found their contributions value adding. FWIW, I only frequent four forums, one of which is this one. A year plus ago I dropped off all social media platforms which I found to have devo...

Re: Public School Issue

You might like the book, The Beautiful Tree , by James Tooley, about poor people in the third world who give up on the free government schools. It’s about alternative schools, not home schooling. I just heard a discussion about US schooling. Years ago there were 100,000 one room schools in the count...

Is it The current view of science that a person who wants a booster must get one of the same brand as the prior vax? If so, is that the long term plan too?

I believe pp4me's point is that if enough of the people in power actually don't care to protect some right, then it won't be protected, regardless of what the Bill of Rights says. Yeah, that's what I meant. Also, it's up to the Supreme Court to interpret the text and determine whether or not the Bi...

Hospitals are short staffed almost everywhere in the USA.
Hospitals are threatening to fire qualified staff over vaccination status.

Make of that what you will.

I have a less alarmed view of a 50% stock drop because I’m only one third stocks. If I can’t take a 15-20% overall loss I shouldn’t be investing.
Where are you allocated with the other 2/3rd?
