Re: Poll

Several of us have tried to influence MJ to stop the endless repetitive objections. It obviously doesn’t help. Just grin and bear it. Same with Bbud.

Joke aside, Stoxx 50 is already more than 3% down for the day (Nikkei was also), so SPY will follow. For the tmie being the "explanation" is the new South African st...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I hate the internet. I honestly think my life was better before it was ubiquitous. In many ways, I totally agree. Work related, though, I am sitting here designing a PCB. I need to add a new part. The schematic/layout software I use is tied into all the major distributors of parts. I search for a f...

I normally don't look at the politics section anymore, but I did want to ask a couple things. I need to say I purposely do not watch much news anymore, even though this was happening less than 50 miles from where I live. So I am asking not to get shit upon here but looking for a better understandin...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

I actually don't mind if Google sorts through news stories weeding out the ones that are actually important and relevant. I do mind. To me that puts Google in position of curating what I see. But, we are talking about search suggestions, not results, so that's a little different. But I still think ...

Serious questions. No, I don't think I have COVID.

If you get it, under what situation should you go to the hospital?
What do they do for it in the hospital? All I know about is that the last step, the Hail Mary, is putting you on the ventilator. What comes before that?

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

Google absolutely suppresses search suggestions and results. When the story was out about Biden supposedly sharting, I and a friend in another state both tested the search engines by typing Joe Biden and seeing the proposed searches. Both DDG and Bing offered: Joe Biden craps pants Joe Biden falls a...

But back on topic, could race relations in America get any worse than they are right now? I suppose they could get worse, because the left actually believes that white people, especially males, are deplorable. They've made that very clear every day for several years. BTW I watched a Nomad Capitalis...

Just remember, dissenters will always be vilified. When it comes time to round them up or hurt them, the police and armed forces will have been convinced they are doing the right thing.

Twitter abounds with people threatening violence toward him. Why do I get the feeling they don’t understand the case, or care to? What the media reported before and during the trial is vastly different from what came out at trial. All of the leftists believe he was a white supremacist who sought ou...

Re: What explains the disconnect between gold and Fed balance sheets since about 2013?

Off hand, I’d guess that it’s because inflation remained low. Secondly, negative real interest rates have been in place for the period. Gold didn’t have to increase to compete against cash since cash wasn’t earning a good interest rate.

Same with me and GLD.

Does PHYS allow you to redeem in gold? If so, that shouldn’t be taxable.

I see there is now a GLDM (mini), with an expense ratio of 0.18%. I should dig into it and see if expenses are being waived. Has anyone looked into GLDM?

Has one flu strain gone extinct?

The studies, one published in Nature Reviews Microbiology in September and one under review, show that the influenza B/Yamagata virus has not been detected since April 2020 anywhere in the world. Because B/Yamagata only circulated among humans, Koutsakos says it hasn’t evolved much over the past de...

Am I wrong to be irked by this? If it was just one person I could write it off but I see so many of them every day! You can’t be wrong for being irked by something any more than you could be wrong for not liking cilantro. It’s out of your hands. It is a bit weird to dwell on it, though. Some people...
