Indexing overtakes Active Investing

I saw this yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was from CNBC.com, but I can't find the link. The amount of money in index funds has finally overtaken that in active funds. Let's assume I didn't imagine this. ;) I've said for years that there has to be a tipping point, where there is so much automatic inve...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold

I don’t think the IRS has ever said that allocated overseas gold is subject to those reporting laws. All I’ve seen is CYA advice offered by third parties.

Re: It's quiet... TOO quiet...

Looks like I'm up 10% since Jan 1. Not bad. I'm sure my international stocks are lagging, as they have since I added them 10 years ago. Whatever. I'm at 6.3% for 10 years. Ok let's see. My SP500 index fund has earned 14.67% over the 10 years. The FTSE All World ex US is 6.68%. I'm sure it will turn ...

I haven't checked my portfolio in a month or so. I'll check and report back.

Re: Ticker symbol for gold?

On my lookup it was labeled as June 19 future price, but maybe it's a current price. Either way it should be good for my needs.

Re: Gold Purchase!

The Perth Mint ETF for ease/convenience/expense ratio; and the inconvenient but still valuable ability to show up in Perth and get gold handed to you. Bullion coins from a dealer or dealers of your choice. Just "enough to get by". Like maybe peaking at 80 ounces IMO. This part all depends on your ri...

Ticker symbol for gold?

I've googled it, can't seem to get something that works in Yahoo Finance on my phone.
XAU doesn't work.
XAUUSD=X looked like it was going to work, but the price never changes from $1301.xx.

Anyone know?

Re: Dalio on MMT

Yeah, that's what we need. Economists running the country. Deciding who wins, who loses. Essentially setting the prices for everything. With all of the cronyism, special interests, front running, and perverse incentives that will go along with it. But, smart people will be running it, what could pos...
