Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

I won't stand up for Trump on this question. I'm setting him aside for the moment. I'm just saying that the Dems have this propensity to lie about the dumbest things. They don't feel good enough about their qualifications, so they make these desperate, comical lies. It's self-parody. I wish Tulsi Ga...

Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

Presidents all are liars. Most of them aren’t as transparent about it as Trump. :)

Re: The Left is Eating Itself Pt. II

At an LGBQT event, Beto was asked if he would support removal of tax-exempt status for religious institutions which are anti-gay. His answer, "Yes".

He is the gift that keeps on giving. I hope he does well in an early primary, so more people can hear him on the news.

Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

Is it just me, or is the crop of 2020 Dems unusually filled with liars? I don't try to memorize the offenses, but I'm pretty sure several of them have proven track records of lies. And I can think back to the same thing in other years. John Kerry, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hillary. Usually they are inf...

Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

All I wanted... ...was someone who my kids and I could at least respect, if not look up to. I'll admit I'm highly cynical, but this is where I think many people are simply expecting too much. I also question how much respect and reverence of previous presidents and other officials is the result of ...

Re: Estate Taxes

What if a parent leaves their shares of the business to their child, they have to hire an auditor to tell them how much their family business is worth so that they know how big of a check to cut to the government? Seems wrong. That's exactly how it has always worked. There are of course loopholes. ...

Indexing overtakes Active Investing

I saw this yesterday. I'm pretty sure it was from CNBC.com, but I can't find the link. The amount of money in index funds has finally overtaken that in active funds. Let's assume I didn't imagine this. ;) I've said for years that there has to be a tipping point, where there is so much automatic inve...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold

I don’t think the IRS has ever said that allocated overseas gold is subject to those reporting laws. All I’ve seen is CYA advice offered by third parties.

Re: It's quiet... TOO quiet...

Looks like I'm up 10% since Jan 1. Not bad. I'm sure my international stocks are lagging, as they have since I added them 10 years ago. Whatever. I'm at 6.3% for 10 years. Ok let's see. My SP500 index fund has earned 14.67% over the 10 years. The FTSE All World ex US is 6.68%. I'm sure it will turn ...
