Re: EUROPEAN PP family

Being in Portugal, your cash is in Euros.  Why isn't the rest of your portfolio in PanEuropean instruments, instead of Portuguese?
Example? Thank you. :-\
IIRC, one should ideally have all PP instruments in the investor's home economy.  Except for physical gold, which should be sto...

Money in italy.  Don't want to pay big foreign exhange fees.  Geographic diversification, for US troubles and if need to move in future. Already have US pp.
Nice, you can have both. Go for it!
Being in Portugal, your cash is in Euros.  Why isn't the rest of your portfolio in PanEur...

Re: EUROPEAN PP family

Dual citizen currently living in US.  May start a pp in italy.  What about a pan-european pp? No idea where to begin. Is there any reason you wouldn't just go with a "standard" PP?  Money is in italy.  Don't want to pay big foreign exchange fees, and like geographic diversification, in ca...

Re: Which PP segments suitable for IRAs?

Harry Browne suggests in Fail Safe Investing the following hierarchy for pension plans:  1. T Bills,  2. T Bonds, 3. Stock Mutual Fund, 4. Gold. But, he was writing in a time when money earned much more interest.  I wonder if he would suggest otherwise today.  T Bills may not be on the top of the li...

Re: Cyprus: 10% Savings confiscation

Also, what's to say that if they were going to screw people via FDIC, they wouldn't do it to holders of T-bills? I mean, if your going to renege on your promises, what's the limit?

Re: Roth 401(K)

As the system becomes threatened, don't be surprised as rules get bent and changed to protect the "too big to fail" entities...especially governments.

See how law and finance dance to protect core interests:

"Note that Karl Denninger wrote that piece.

All pieces written by Denninger should come with a complimentary grain of salt."

It's a Time magazine quote.

Re: Roth 401(K)

Before buying a Roth, read this... "So hold on to your wallet. Congress has many options when it comes to tapping this vast reservoir. It could eliminate the deduction altogether or just for top earners, further restrict the amount that is deductible (currently $17,500; for those over 50, $23,0...
