Crypto: a decentralized Ponzi Scheme ;D
I figured it was more pyramid than ponzi since there isn't a single asset manager.

Pyramid schemes can be quite lucrative.

Re: Illiquidity of off the run treasury bonds

It almost sounded like they were saying the foreign banks didn't have access to sell them into secondary market and had to sell them back to dealers. Otherwise I would sure think there would be a price point that would create some liquidity because it was such a good deal. I just found this paper th...

Illiquidity of off the run treasury bonds

I don't think I knew about the liquidity problems for selling treasury bonds into secondary market. I was just listening to this conversation about trouble in March 2020 when foreign markets were unloading treasury bonds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaQhyd2h974 https://www.investopedia.com/terms...

Re: The Great Reset

It sure doesn't sound like it will end well. I can see it making the housing market more volatile like the stock market.

I always thought the renter cities should vote to eminent domain mass amounts of land , build multifamily housing and sell to highest bidder. Oversupply will solve the problem.

Re: Crypto convert

Bought small bit of gbtc today with gut feeling that it will be up by Tuesday when the market opens again for quick profit. I originally wanted to buy more gold but it kept going higher and gbtc was on sale. Barely got out ahead but got lucky. Small bump up in gbtc this morning combined with a drop...

Wow. That Avantis fund is impressive.

The US equity with only 0.15% expense ratio and only 3% turnover rate is even more impressive with 3 to 4 % out performance.

Re: Small Cap Value index funds

Incredible visualization!

Thank you!

Sp 600 really did just get lucky then with their index slice size being the smallest.

Definitely makes it hard to pick a fund to stick with for long run.

Now that we have seen small cap value outperform this year I have been surprised in the difference in returns for each of the indexes. I also got the paperwork in the mail.

I came to the conclusion pretty quick that it wasn't going to be worth my time to fill out.

I would have much preferred that they just mail me a gold coin.

I got somewhat lucky and sold all gbtc I had when btc was still around 60k.

Now that coinbase has crashed down a bit I might just buy it for a more agnostic but crypto tilted approach.

What have you found that the altcoins can do? I haven't looked into them much at all.

They all still feel like pyramid schemes to me.

The most disruptive feature I see is the portability. Wealth can now be moved across borders so much easier.

1 month bill is staying negative and I bet it will close negative today.

I can't imagine a treasury money market fund won't start passing this along to fund holders now.

Do they have method in place to not break the buck?

I have a long stock portfolio (in addition to an HBPP) that I want to somehow secure against a big shock. I guess I can start layering in HBPP elements intermediate bonds, IAU. Seems hard to deny that there are UFOs now:

I am of the mind that there are just many things we don't know about our world still or may not be able to understand. Not necessarily alien aircraft.

For all you who play DnD or other d20 games, would you have your PC wear a ring even if it "only" gave you +1 (5%) to some saving throws? (Assuming had nothing better of course). Doesn't look like the smart people responded yet so I will at least continue the conversation. I also first heard about the pfix etf on that podcast.
