Interesting legal discussion on your rights in Australia.
How does this contrast with the USA?

PS: Reinforces HB's advice to keep some assets abroad.....
What good is having assets abroad if you can't leave the country?

Re: More Diversified Fund for Stock Portion

Most index funds are capitalization weighted.
You could consider the Equal Weight S&P 500 ETF: RSP
It still has all 500 stocks, but nothing gets overweighted. The expense ratio is a bit higher though.

So is the Delta wave about to end, or not yet?
If it is ending, what comes next?
Status quo comes next. There are no metrics for change, so why would anything change?

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

I guess Scott Adams has basically the same opinion as I do: I think I am supposed to be one of the Lefties on here but I agree. Here in CT, Governor Lamont had his executive powers extended another four plus months. This in spite of the fact that statewide more than 77% of all CT residents have had...

Re: Are We Living Under Communism?

Do you remember when everyone thought that Australia was a great place to deposit our gold because they respected people's rights? That narrative has sure changed, hasn't it? If I had gold at the Perth Mint, I'd be pulling that out ASAP. BTW, this is why I have been saying all along that if anyone ...

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

You know the CDC has a great site on COVID . Easy to understand, written for laymen and they say absolutely crazy things like..."we don't know at this time" on various aspects of COVID. And, since their website is paid for by your tax dollars they don't need to publish clickbait to pull in advertis...

You might like the book, The Beautiful Tree , by James Tooley, about poor people in the third world who give up on the free government schools. It’s about alternative schools, not home schooling. I just heard a discussion about US schooling. Years ago there were 100,000 one room schools in the coun...

But still.....after over a year and one-half of this....there is still nothing definitive we can all access and agree upon?
The better question is WHY we can not get CLEAR, unequivocal, definitive answers.

Re: Reasons why I will not be getting injected for the Wuhan

If you go to liberal news sites like CNN and MSNBC you get all kinds of stories about unvaccinated people dying of COVID, especially if they were anti-vaxxers. If you go to conservative sites like Breitbart or Revolver you get all kinds of stories about people dying after taking the vaccine plus fu...

It also suggests what we already know: the vaccine doesn't prevent infection. It just mitigates the clinical effects of infection. Which makes it worthwhile, since everyone is guaranteed to be repeatedly exposed to COVID 19. Trying to hide from it is ridiculous...like trying to hide from air. It's ...
