Re: The Results of 6 months of Options Trading (Covered Calls/Puts)

I sold puts and calls early 2022 through about April. I did fine, but in the end the time and anxiousness (esp. when trading weekly ones) was not worth it to me. Instead, for some portion of my net worth, I own DIVO and JEPI, both are dividend focused funds that write calls on some of their holding...

Re: The Results of 6 months of Options Trading (Covered Calls/Puts)

Doug Casey, a lifelong successful speculator, likes to trade options. He likes the small easy gains. I can’t remember which way he trades except he says he plays the role of the casino and the other parties are more the gamblers. He also says most people can’t/shouldn’t try what he does. I found a ...

Congratulations on your success! As a side note ..... I'd set your spreadsheet number format to no decimal places as the pennies are irrelevant and are just noise when you are looking at the numbers and trying to absorb the result of each week. Just for instance ... I'm looking at your last number ...

The Results of 6 months of Options Trading (Covered Calls/Puts)

Greetings Gyroscopic Community. I started getting into Options Trading (covered calls/puts) 6 months ago due to my thoughts that the stock market may be going into a recession or just low returns for the foreseeable future and trying to goose my returns. Below you'll see my actual returns per week (...

It's because of prices like these (and the fact that my family is in the east coast) that I'm glad I go to California coast to visit, not stay.

Undecided between gray or grey
Depends on if you live in America or Western Europe. America starts with an A = gray. England and Europe start with E = grey.

Personally I'm a fan of griy (Iceland's version of Gray).

Vantablack, because it's the blackest black in the world. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vantablack Color is hard to determine a favorite. I think it depends on what other colors are surrounding it and what the color is attached to. White is a great color, but I don't want my steering wheel to be a...

Carlsbad Caverns, ooh. I used to visit family in NM, and went to the caverns in the 80s for the mass bat exodus at dusk. Kind of scary. We know where he's going to be!!! Quick! Get in the car! Re: New Tax Plan Deductions

Maybe I am wrong but ultimately I don't believe anyone makes a charitable donation because of a tax deduction. I'm sure that many people who intend to make significant charitable donations are inclined to at least look at the timing of donations at this time of the year. For example, if one is goin...

Re: New Tax Plan Deductions

With the old tax system i would have started itemizing because i just bought a house and give to charity each year (almost entirely to the church). Now itemizing with the standard deduction so high only would make some of those charitable contributions into actual dollars that reduce my overall taxe...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

Yes, I would take away my kid's freewill to choose to put his hand on a hot stove burner if he couldn't stop doing it. The Bible says that that those who are in Christ were chosen and predestined for it before the world was even created (excuse my paraphrase but I think it's pretty accurate from me...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

I look at it from a probability standpoint. If you spend your whole life (say 100 years), and every day you touch the stove and it burns you but you go back to it every day for that 100 years, what is the probability that if you lived 200 years that you'd learn your lesson and that you'd stop touch...

5.) To your point above, you can tell your child to not touch the stove and if they don't believe you and touch it, they burn themselves and ideally learn. Sometimes suffering can be a way to learn. Re: Figuring Out Religion

I have a question for the orthodox believers who post to this thread (you know who you are). It's really very simple. The Bible says "God is love" so it must be true. Yet, according to orthodox Christian doctrine millions/billions will suffer the never ending torments of hell for all eternity becau...

The problem, Don, is that you forgot the eighth rule of fight club. And the eighth and final rule: If this is your first night at Fight Club, you have to fight. Thus... for this place to be the place you remember, you have to show up bare-knuckled. Not whining about how it used to be. Why are you s...

If interested Pointedstick (or to anyone else for that matter), I did a presentation on this to some members of my church last month on some of the historical data on Jesus.
