Re: What's your favorite color?

Vantablack, because it's the blackest black in the world. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vantablack Color is hard to determine a favorite. I think it depends on what other colors are surrounding it and what the color is attached to. White is a great color, but I don't want my steering wheel to be a...

Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

Carlsbad Caverns, ooh. I used to visit family in NM, and went to the caverns in the 80s for the mass bat exodus at dusk. Kind of scary. We know where he's going to be!!! Quick! Get in the car! We gotta get autographs and selfies!! ;D Luckily I still have my Permanent Portfolio book that MediumTex s...

Re: New Tax Plan Deductions

Maybe I am wrong but ultimately I don't believe anyone makes a charitable donation because of a tax deduction. I'm sure that many people who intend to make significant charitable donations are inclined to at least look at the timing of donations at this time of the year. For example, if one is goin...

Re: New Tax Plan Deductions

With the old tax system i would have started itemizing because i just bought a house and give to charity each year (almost entirely to the church). Now itemizing with the standard deduction so high only would make some of those charitable contributions into actual dollars that reduce my overall taxe...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

Yes, I would take away my kid's freewill to choose to put his hand on a hot stove burner if he couldn't stop doing it. The Bible says that that those who are in Christ were chosen and predestined for it before the world was even created (excuse my paraphrase but I think it's pretty accurate from me...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

I look at it from a probability standpoint. If you spend your whole life (say 100 years), and every day you touch the stove and it burns you but you go back to it every day for that 100 years, what is the probability that if you lived 200 years that you'd learn your lesson and that you'd stop touch...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

5.) To your point above, you can tell your child to not touch the stove and if they don't believe you and touch it, they burn themselves and ideally learn. Sometimes suffering can be a way to learn. Boils down to Discipline looking forward to reform us and Punishment looking backwards for accepting...

Thanks for your response farjean2, here's some additional comments regarding your thoughts.
