Re: The Bond Dream Room

She's a scientist so she knows how to read charts and graphs. She also has that woman's intuition for when something is a good deal and when it is overpriced. I'm trying very hard not to be offended by this discussion, but I'm failing miserably. So it's my "women's intuition" that gets me publicati...

Re: The GOLD scream room

Did you hit a rebalance band then?

I'm not even close. Darn the PP for being so stable!

Re: The Permanent Supplement Regime

Maddy that is an awesome system!! Your post is pasted into my recipe book. Sausage is dead simple!!!! You can make it with ground pork from the grocery, but then it comes out hard (but still delicious). To do it properly you need a meat grinder. I got a KitchenAid mixer attachment. Get pork shoulder...

Re: The Bond Dream Room

Seems to me TLT starts to bang it's head on the ceiling when it hits 155. Click here, because darn it, Tinypic is going away. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1e9kyV6pGEU2hejz-CDa08DwcwcHrHSm-/view Trend channels can be broken out of, and generally when that happens the old resistance line becomes t...

Re: I'm feeling some paralysis about new money

Buying is hard for me too. I always feel like I'm going out on a limb and disaster may strike at any moment.

Having a framework for everything, including cash, is worth its weight in gold for me!

Re: The Permanent Supplement Regime

They specifically excluded tropical oils from "vegetable oils". It is about demonizing. A message about "moderation" and advice to limit sugar and processed foods would have been more useful, but I guess politically unpalatable. I'm surprised that the saturated fat message didn't get more protest, b...

Re: Backtesting for the Optimum HBPP Allocations

Interesting question & reporting - thanks guys! Applying what I know about statistical analysis to this question...I think you'd have run a permutation test, also known as a bootstrap. I would do this: Take each year's gain and average it with the year before and year after (since a given year's per...

Re: I'm feeling some paralysis about new money

I've got the same trepidation, because I was actually a bit underweight in bonds, and if I hit a rebalance band soon I will probably have to buy some. So here's a thought: I'll buy the bonds in taxable. That way, if bonds go down which is what we all expect, I'll have a nice tax loss harvest to look...

ICE raids

I'm interested to see what happens at the Mississippi poultry plans in the aftermath of the ICE raids. So far, it looks like unemployed citizens/legal residents are interested in the jobs after all, despite the never-ending insistence that "only Latin American immigrants are willing to do those jobs...

Re: The Permanent Supplement Regime

Yup, I have no doubt that the introduction of low fat processed foods and the promotion of grain products was a major trigger, plus companies really started getting good at sneaking sugar into everything to cut costs. I recently started a keto diet (trying to shed those postmenopausal pounds) and we...

Re: Epstein

Absolutely amazing that this kind of thing could go on for years out in the open. It is impossible that law enforcement in multiple places in the US and around the world could have missed it. Didn't anyone connect missing children reports with appearance of minor girls without passports in NYC, or b...

Re: Video from the 2019 Democratic Socialists of America Convention

The video isn't up, but the article was kind of funny (and sad). This probably correlates well with functional disorders, which the people who need to attend a symposium in a silent room probably have. No one seems to be tracking this, but it's so common that I bet it competes favorably with metabol...
