Re: Historic Bullish Sentiment Along With Historic Resistance In Bonds Isn't Good
The only time Long bonds have problems is during inflation of 70's... i really don't buy them for yield but for massive price moves when stocks are falling hard.

I have a "dumb phone." Never done Twitter. Do not have a Facebook page. Barrett has my cell number. Guess I should get my cell number to WiseOne and Goodasgold- and probably Tom. George C Scott as Gen Patton in "Patton" said "God, how I hate the 20th century." I mis...

Re: Effect of Ray Dalio portfolio's popularity on PP?
Many of you may be aware of Ray Dalio's all weather portfolio. 30% Stocks, 15% Int.Bond, 40% LT Bond, 7.5% Gold, 7.5% Commodities. AWP is kinda sorta similar to PP (especially when you consider that PP assets can move away from their initial 25% allocation until next rebalance). And similar to PP...

just as a FYI, ameritrade has a pretty cool stock simulator in ThinkorSWIM. the only catch is that you have to have a real money acccount to get real time quotes on paper trading.

Re: reallocation of bonds
i am thinking option 4. hedge it out with some IEI.
i checked a some historical data Long term bonds, had years when you had 0 to slightly negative returns 4 years in a row.

reallocation of bonds
guys,
i was thinking of instead of holding 25% TLT, switch to something more like 20%/5% TLT:IEI or 15%/10% TLT:IEI?
The rising interest rate fear has me worried. first i am seeing gold drop... it would be difficult to see the bonds get wacked as well.
any insight will be helpful.
thanks
