I think one also has to look at total debt levels. If people/companies/governments start defaulting on debt, then the total money supply will drastically decrease. A little money printing in such an environment will help to prevent a catastrophic deflation event. I think this is why we aren't see...

Another thought, if you are contributing new money to your PP, you could just purchase whatever has the lowest percentage (rather than just put the new funds into the t-bill account). I would say the PP is fine in Canada with your allocation, and agree with the comments. Although, one thing of note is that the canadian stock index does have a lot of gold companies, so if gold does go down in price (as it has done a bit over the past little while), the index may also do so... unl...
