Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
Yes, in Plano. Outside the Plano DPS when my wife went to get her license there was an employee standing outside shouting that this is a Federal Building and mask mandates are in effect. They are still by appointment only at that location. There shouldn't be anything federal about the Plano DPS. Th...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion
I went into a big chain hospital today. No masking requirements for entry or otherwise. I gather that this is still not the case in some US states? In my part of Western Massachusetts it is always masks for anything medically related. I think that might be the only places where that is the case. No...

...Sound Blaster I remember when I first got into PC building (this was like 2005 or so), it was a serious faux pas amongst enthusiasts to use onboard audio. To be fair, those sound blaster cards were REALLY good at creating spatial audio. The usual snide remark about onboard audio was "do you real...

Write a description of downtown Antigua, Guatemala using the style of prose of Ernest Hemingway. The morning sun cast its golden hue on the cobblestone streets of Antigua, Guatemala. The centuries-old architecture, with its ornate facades of brightly painted stucco, seemed almost to glimmer in the ...

Re: The State of the Economy
I would just like to point out again that debt as a currency user (an individual, a household, a state, a country with a currency that's backed or pegged) is qualitatively a completely different thing from debt as a currency issuer (a nation-state with its own fiat currency).

During an interview on "60 Minutes" from September, Biden was asked about the viral photograph of top secret documents spread across the floor by the FBI following the raid of former President Trump's Mar-a-Lago home. "When you saw the photograph of the top secret documents laid out on the floor at...

Re: Holding Vanguard Funds in a Fidelity Account
Well, it turns out that Fidelity does not have a fee to sell either of the mutual funds I transferred over (VTSAX and VWIAX [Wellesley-- forgot about that one]. They said that the fee pertains only to Vanguard mutual funds purchased through Fidelity. So this is very good news. Now I simply need to ...

Couldn't you move those mutual fund holdings back to Vanguard to sell them?

I used to have a crush on Cate Planchet. True story, I had an ex lover that looked just like her, if you drank just two martinis. She also came complete with her own venezuelan female bisexual lover. Made for an exciting summer. Back to silver.....outstanding deal here:https://bullionexchanges.com/...

Do you have leash laws for cats where in live in Texas??!! I have never heard of such a thing. Pay a guy to run ethernet cables. Even theoretically perfect wifi has all kinds of interference and latency. https://www.gnswireless.com/info/full-duplex-vs-half-duplex Or use the google Nest extenders Hear, hear. I think I have just favorite lines and scenes, like “ nojo on the rojo. ” Sometimes it’s nice to review the show, like slipping into a warm bath. Familiarity + 90s nostalgia. "90s TV nostalgia" (particularly for a show on Fox) reminded me of this phenomenal article about how Rupert Murdoch got the ...

Glennds and vantale, I hereby invoke Godwin's law. If you're really being serious, Godwin's law is mostly aimed at the use of Hitler comparisons in the context of the Holocaust which you know is not the case here. Godwin's law itself can be applied mistakenly or abused as a distraction, diversion o...

I was thinking that if I had taken a conservative real estate path out of college, I may have been able to mostly retire at 30 to 35. Part of it was based on the fact that my technical degree gave me a better than average salary, the other part of it was that I was from a very nice but relatively c...

Let's assume/breakdown the one tweet theory would have changed the election. First of all, that tweet had to rise above the noise of several 1000, 10s/100s of thousands??? of tweets made daily. Second, you have to assume this tweet would have been categorically decisive. I chose not to make that as...

I'm not on Twitter at all. But do you really not see the principle here? If unelected bureaucrats at the government are willing and able to coerce (by one or more of various means) the press into suppressing stories they don't like, isn't that bad? The story here is not Twitter per se, it's that the...
