Re: Figuring Out Religion

Jacksonm2, I am so sorry that your daughter, and you, are suffering on this side of the Last Day. Thanks. I'll let her know that it's the Last Day and Jesus is coming soon. Sure that will help. jacksonm2: I'm sorry you interpreted my condolences so glibly. I was serious, I am sorry you are sufferin...

Re: Lack of outrage

I think I'm beginning to understand where the Congressional "Impeachment Mania" politicians may have studied, and whose belief system they mimic: A rare bird is Duke University’s Stanley Fish, an apostle of deconstructionism, a postmodernist approach to literary analysis. He admits the only absolute...

Re: This is also NOT from the Onion

Breitbart provides a balance for the NYT as the NYT has largely turned in to all OpEd and commentary, as has Breitbart ..... and Hollywood ..... and the House of Representatives (who needs to change their name to House of the Rising Sun ;) ). YMMV.

Re: Following hearings?

How many of you are following today's hearings? I am until I leave for my office. I hope it is on NPR radio so I can listen during the drive. And, normally I'd be able to follow it once I get to my office since the norm is for me to work alone in my office. But today, I'm pushing for several meetin...

Re: Figuring Out Religion

We look around us, we observe, we know things are not "right". We see sickness, temptations, sorrow, and death. We inherently know this is not the way it should be. Then there is the extra dose of suffering for being a Christian. In several ways, being a Christian makes life more difficult. You can'...

Re: Bill Gates Becomes Latest Billionaire To Grapple With Elizabeth Warren

So where are the taxes to feed the orphans supposed to come from, if not from people with 10 yachts You're assuming that the government is better at feeding orphans than private charities? I can think of a few worthy charities you should start writing checks to right now, if you feel that orphans a...

Re: Which camp?

I'm putting this in the category of "okay, even if what you say is true, so what?" It's hard to believe that the process of natural selection favoring a reproductive benefit wouldn't have resulted in some difference between male and female brains. But even if both males and females ended up with id...

I'm sure he's a very hard worker. He also refused to call Maduro a dictator. That's a show stopper. I've never been convinced of your first sentence. Vinny I expect he is a very hard worker; perhaps just not by your definition of hard worker. He obviously likes to work hard for peaches. ;) https://...
