Re: Will Trump be Re-elected?

Here's a challenge for anyone that is relatively certain that there's nothing Trump could do or say to change their opinion about him:

Ignore him for a month or two. At the end, see if your life was better or worse during that time. Then move forward as you wish.

Re: BYND

Aside from that, eating some fermented foods like yogurt, sauerkraut, bubbies pickles, etc can definitely help as well. +1 on Bubbies sauerkraut and pickles. If the only sauerkraut you've had is the pasteurized, non-refrigerated stuff found on grocery store shelves, you're missing out. It's not che...

Re: BYND

There's more to health and diet optimization than weight loss. So while it's true that calories in/out is a factor and the laws of thermodynamics cannot be manipulated, IMO that doesn't mean that everything else is automatically irrelevant. Food and humans are far too complex for there to be a "perf...

Re: BYND

I have a friend that is a dr and did research into the current studies on this and found that there was not enough evidence in the research to suggest any kind of link between soy and testosterone. In other words, as most things you read on the internet that are diet related, the bloggers just twis...

Re: BYND

Well, for what it’s worth, I was practically raised on soy-based meat substitutes (for religious reasons), yet a blood test a few years ago indicated my testosterone level was actually above average. Sample size of one. 8) As an aside, testosterone levels and test results can fluctuate quite a bit....

Re: Stock scream room

Am I just a negative Nancy on stocks? Thank God for the PP, or I would still not be invested in stocks at all, but really why, for years now, can I not shake the feeling that the current economy is all a mirage, based off fake numbers and debt? It must be a condition. I should be just as happy when...

What the PP lacks in offense, it makes up in defense.
Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships.

Re: Question about 401k plan allocations in the PP

I have to transfer funds into the brokerage side of my 401k to get to the “good stuff”, so I do tend to let cash contributions build up a bit and then transfer it occasionally. When I do that I typically spread it among the assets to bring things into balance or close to it. My only advice is that t...

Re: Gold Purchase!

A box comes, and it doesn't say "Here's your gold!" all over it. So disappointing, am I right? ;D I have used APMEX as well and would recommend them. Probably not rock-bottom prices, but reasonable enough, trustworthy, and very easy to deal with. Wire transfers are convenient, and I found it intere...

Re: Cinco de Mayo Bicentennial

To clarify... I always look, because I have been driving for over 30 years and it's a habit. And because I don't trust machines. I use the blind spot monitoring as an additional driving aid and I have found it to be valuable. In case you're not familiar with how it works, the visual indicator in you...

Re: Cinco de Mayo Bicentennial

My concern about cars these days is poor visibility around the blind spot. I know you can adjust mirrors, but I dont like it. Get a car with blind spot monitoring. I still look over my shoulder and sometimes you have to ignore the alert in heavy traffic, but it does come in handy. Probably saved my...

Re: Cinco de Mayo Bicentennial

Even when I think I got a great deal, I am always second guessing myself afterward. These guys haggle cars for a living. You can't ever win at their game. You won't ever beat them, but you can have a win/win. Just like with investing, it's not worth beating yourself up about not buying at the very ...
